2006-01-24 The CW Network was founded and would be launching on September 18.

2006-03-01 BET Jazz was rebranded as BET J.

2006-04-03 Fox Sports West 2 was renamed FSN Prime Ticket.

2006-04-06 IndiePlex was launched.

2006-04-06 RetroPlex was launched.

2006-05-27 VH1 Country was rebranded as CMT Pure Country.

2006-06-00 Spike TV rebranded as Spike.

2006-09-01 MountainWest Sports Network (aka the mtn.) was launched.

2006-09-04 MTV Tr3s was unofficially launched.

2006-09-05 My Network TV (operated by Fox) was launched. Most of its initial stations were former affiliates of the WB and UPN networks that did not join the CW Network. On September 28, 2009, it transitioned from a television network to a programming service.

2006-09-15 It was the final broadcast day for the United Paramount Network.

2006-09-17 It was the final broadcast day for the WB Television Network.

2006-09-18 The WB 100+ Station Group shut down and was replaced sometime during the day with the CW Plus.

2006-09-18 The CW Broadcasting Network was launched.

2006-09-18 The CW Plus was launched as the national feed of the CW, a joint venture between Warner Media and CBS Corporation. It was created after the parent companies of the WB and UPN merged the two mini networks in order to create the CW, using the best of both of the networks' programs.
